Earlier this year, LAC Cares established a vegetable garden at Jakaranda Kinderhuis to support long-term food security for the home.
With the guidance and hands-on support of the AgricultSURE team, the project was implemented from start to finish. From preparing the land to planting and ongoing support, their expertise ensured a successful rollout.
The project started in February, and by April, the children’s home celebrated their first harvest of 48 kg of fresh spinach.
With winter vegetables and herbs planted, the garden will continue to provide a reliable source of nutritious food.
