The definitive

field guides

The LAEVELD SCOUTâ„¢ series is authored by leading crop protection experts with the support of numerous key representatives from the industry. The guides are a must-have item for anybody in the agricultural industry.

Responsible pest management starts with scouting in the field to ensure the early and correct identification of the pest and to find the appropriate solution. Acting proactively prevents costly mistakes and disruptive intervention efforts later in the season.

The guides illustrate the biology of pests as well as other comparable damage symptoms. Monitoring guidelines and general control strategies are explained and highlighted with colourful illustrations and striking photographs.

LAEVELD SCOUTâ„¢ authors: Dr. Ernst de Beer (Laeveld Agrochem Business Manager), Dr. Jeanne de Waal (Laeveld Agrochem Business Manager), Annemarie Bekker and Des van Heerden.

Taking Scout training to the field

We are committed to developing knowledgeable, field-ready scouts who can identify crop challenges with confidence. That’s why Dr Jeanne de Waal and the LAC team have been travelling across the region to provide hands-on training, using our own Laeveld Scout manuals as a practical and accessible guide. By taking learning directly to the farm, we ensure scouts gain the real-world experience they need to make a meaningful impact in the field.

More than 150 agents
across South Africa

Laeveld Agrochem’s agents (franchisees) are qualified agronomists accredited by CropLife South Africa (formerly AVCASA).

In each region, agents receive support from experienced Business Managers, enabling detailed recommendations for both corrective and proactive measures on the farm.

Operating as a franchise business model, our dedicated team can assist growers with detailed recommendations to optimise yield per hectare.

Through strategic collaboration with our technology partner, Agri Technovation, we offer innovative solutions such as MyFarmWebâ„¢ and Pickloggerâ„¢, tailored to meet the evolving needs of modern agriculture.
